Bay Area Community Colleges are hosting week-long summer CyberCamps for middle and high school students (incoming 7th-12th graders for the 2018-19 school year). Camps feature five days of no-cost introductory and advanced cybersecurity training. Instruction is led by community college faculty and staff. Training modules developed by the CyberPatriot program cover a variety of topics including hacking prevention, system hardening, access control, and system protection. The five-day program ends with a team competition and awards. Introductory and Advanced Camps both are scheduled for this summer.
Troy High School will host our annual standard cyber camp this summer in July. The camp will be open to all students entering into grades 6-12. Campers can attend the afternoon camp; the MORNING camp is now full.
Students from other schools can attend a similar camp hosted at Coastline College from July 16-20 in Garden Grove. Contact Instructor Handrias Fujianto at [email protected].
The Cyber Patriot Program and curriculum was started as collaborative effort of the Air Force Association and industry. Its goal is to continue to inspire students to pursue STEM related activities outside of the school year. Students attending an AFA CyberCamp will learn important skills in cyber safety and cybersecurity through a 20-hour curriculum that is designed to be completed over five days, with the fifth day serving as a day of mini-Competition. The camp simulates working as a team just like the CyberPatriot Defense Competition and students gain valuable cybersecurity skills that will pose them to create and join their own CyberPatriot teams for the upcoming Defense Competition season.
This is a 5 day event and will begin at 9:00 AM each morning and end at 4:00 PM each day. The camp will run Monday 7/30/18 through Friday 8/3/18. (Note Date Change from Original Posting) You need to be able to attend all 5 days to participate.
Modesto Junior College (in association with the National Youth Cyber Education Program) invites you to a three-day summer CyberPatriot Boot Camp!
